I forget my password and my mac air is not link to any Apple ID. After entering the password wrong several times. there is no option for me to reset except pop up shows my hint for a password which is not very helpful. What should I do?
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15
Restart computer in Recovery Mode ( Command + r ) Immediately at startup. In the Top Menu look for Utilities >> Terminal. The type resetpassword ( one word ) and press the return key. Follow the prompts. Remember the new password as that will be needed when restarting the computer in Normal Mode.
