Blurry and fuzzy display on MacBook Air

hi,

a couple days ago my display/screen changed. I don't know what the catalyst was, but it was probably updating to the newest Big Sur 11.3.1.

Since then my Mac has been blurry.

It's not very blurry, it's usable, but it's annoying. The effect is like this on everything, using Safari, in settings, on apps like OneNote and Word, and gives me a headache to look upon for longer periods of time.

It's most jarring when trying to read something, like an article or my notes, because the letters blur and look fuzzy.

It gets worse if I turn down the brightness, and I can't seem to find anything that could help In the settings, so I'm wondering if anybody here have had the same issue and/or know what to do to fix it?

I'm using a MacBook Air 13-inch 2017.

I have no idea what to do.

Maybe changing the font? Is there a setting for smoothing somewhere? Maybe lessening the contrast would work, but how do I do that?

If anybody knows, pleaseplease help

Hi, thank you for the suggestion!

I'm very sure I'm not zoomed in, so that's not what's causing the blur:(

In the display settings it's on the "default for display"-option. Do you suggest I change it to something else?

Here are some screenshots for reference:

Thank you so much for the help, do you know about anything else that might be causing the issue?

Of course, a change in screen resolution could cause this - check it out at System Preferences > Displays.

Another standard thing to check/rule out: Do you have Zoom enabled? Not the video conferencing stuff, but the screen enlargement configured via System Preferences > Accessibility > Zoom. An inadvertent slight zooming of your screen would cause a slight blur.

Everything looks normal to me. You might try experimenting with the resolution (click "scaled" and explore the resulting options), just to see if that helps. Some of the suggestions here might be worth considering:
