14.5.1 update giving email errors.

After updating my iPad and iPhone with 14.5.1 this past week, my email has gone offline on both devices (email on my MacBook still works, but the OS update for the MacBook makes Safari crash every instance). The email message I get on the iPad and iPhone says there is no email password in Settings. When I click thru to settings it is there. I’ve tried to delete it and rekey the password and it saves and then gives me the same ‘no password’ message. I try adding the wrong password (my prior one) and it says it’s an invalid password. So I’m. Ruinous why it knows the wrong one is wrong and then when I add the right one it says it’s not there, clearly it knows something is in the field and it’s not the wrong something. So what’s going on?

iPhone 11, iOS 14

Who is your email provider and what type of the account is that (POP, IMAP, Exchange)? Unless it’s a POP, you might try to remove the account configuration from your iPhone, then reboot the device before attempting to add back the account to see if the issue is resolved.

If the account is POP, check first if you have copy of your emails stored on the server or elsewhere like in desktop email app on your Mac or PC, before you try to delete and add back the email account on your iPhone.

If the same continues to happen, there is an issue with Mail app connection to the server where your account is stored. Try then another WiFi to see if issue is network related; if still the same, have your email provider to address the issue for you.
