Charging port broken?

I have an Ipad Mini 2 with me for like 4+ years already and recently it would not charge properly. In order for it to charge properly I need to push the lightning cable upwards or get something that will push it upwards and I have to leave it untouched or else it would not charge again. The charging port seems loose and I can pull the lightning cable out easily which should not happen since there should be a little feel of force when pulling it out. Also tried cleaning the port, no dirts or lints honestly. Also tried putting tape to make it more secure but did not work.

As described, the spring retainers (integral to the Lightning port on your iPad) have been damaged or broken. Repair is the only remedy - however, given the age of the iPad mini2, repair is unlikely to be an economically viable option. Your iPad mini2 also cannot be updated beyond iOS 12.5.x.

Apple ended major update support for iPad mini2 in September 2019 - although this model continues to receive “point” security updates. Update These to iPadOS 13 or later major versions of iPadOS is not possible - as the internal hardware does not meet the minimum technical requirements (CPU and RAM) for newer versions of iOS/iPadOS.

You would be well advised to consider replacement of your iPad with a newer model - capable of supporting the current and future versions of iPadOS.
