Batteries are consumable and are not covered by warranty unless found to have a manufacturing fault.

For example complete failure, or health down to below 80% within 6 months might be a suspect but at the discretion of Apple or local laws.


Paid-for AppleCare+ will insure against health drop below 80% within the 2 years, but standard warranty does not cover battery ageing.
