Linear Program Solver

Hello. I came here to follow up on a thread asking if there was a similar offering to the Excel "Solver" in Numbers for linear optimisation problems.


This isn't a linear regression problem, or something I'd fancy coding myself in applescript.


I found a small youtube tutorial which demonstrates the Excel Solver plugin here:

Is this something which could be implemented for Numbers?

Numbers does not include a component similar to Excel's Solver.


You may want to take a look at LibreOffice, an open source office suite, free to download, install and use, whose Calc spreadsheet module does include a "Scenario Manager" for "what if" analysis, and a "solver component that lets you solve optimization problems similar to the one demonstrated in the video linked in your post.
