Dual screen from 2019 Macbook Pro to 2010 iMac not working

Hello.

I have purchased the USB-C to Thunderbolt adapter (plus 50cm thunderbolt cable) to connect my Macbook Pro to my iMac, to use the iMac as an extra/additional monitor. I've connected the devices but he COMMAND F2 function doesn't do anything. The iMac just remains showing its own screen.

Am I missing something? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

That article suggest that the correct cable for the 2010 27-in iMac is a Mini DisplayPort cable.

The ThunderBolt-3 <-> ThunderBolt-2 adapter supports ONLY genuine ThunderBolt displays, and no other display protocols under any circumstances.
