Weird behavior in Music app

Since the update to Music version 1.1.4.110 I am getting some strange behavior. Several blank folders appeared out of nowhere. Also songs now appear in folders I never put them in. In the attached screen shot, the song "Crossroad Blues" by Guy Tortora — which I just added a couple days ago — shows up in a radio playlist folder I created in 2012. As you can see, when I ctrl-clicked on the song it shows it as being in KGNU MSAs > KGNU MSAs 2020 > [blank folder]. It doesn't belong in either of those named folders and where did that weird blank one come from? Something funky is going on.

What I ended up having to do was create new playlist folders with slightly different names and moving the subfolders out of the weirdly acting ones and into these new ones. I also deleted all the blank folders. That seems to have worked.

I'm mystified as to why these folders created themselves and self-populated with songs that didn't belong there.

It sounds like you've got some empty folders in Apple Music after an update. We're glad you've joined us in Apple Support Communities. Let's see if this helps.

Follow the steps in Delete songs and other items in Music on Mac. This will guide you on how to delete these folders and playlists.
