Apple Music Shuffle Mode Only Plays Songs that Start with A or B

I have a large playlist with over 10,000 songs. Whenever I press "Shuffle All" from iTunes (iPhone or Windows 10), EVERY song that plays has an "A" or a "B" in the first letter of the title. I NEVER hear a song that starts with a C, D, ...XYZ. It seems crazy. Both the iPhone and Windows have the same result. I can play in shuffle mode for hours but only A or B shows up.

I have smaller playlists with 100 songs. They play songs that start with every letter of the alphabet. This is the expected behavior.

Why are large playlists not working correctly?

Thanks.

iPhone 11, iOS 14

Hi there SailingandSking!

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are having trouble hearing songs in your playlist that do not start with the letter A or B. We have some tips that can help you find the solution you need.

To start, could you tell us if you have any of the songs that begin with the letters C to Z checked when you are shuffling music when listening on your computer? If they are unchecked, do they play in the shuffle after you check them?

If so, use Edit > Select All to check the rest of the songs. Then, go to the Options tab, and look for 'Skip when shuffling'. Is it enabled? Let's have you disable it and then try to shuffle your music.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
