refresh rate on external monitors limited to 60hz for macbook pro 16" ?

hmm am i right to assume my 16" mbp (intel chip) will only give out 60hz refresh rate on an external monitor? This means even if the monitor was say 165hz, it would only do 60hz?

yes i read the pages that have those information.

that's why I am now asking if external monitors are limited to 60hz output from macbook pro 16".

I want a definite answer.

Anyone from apple can provide me with a direct answer, that would be great.
