EPP and Monthly Installments

I really want the new 24in iMac and have been waiting 2 years to get the new model. I signed up for an apple card in Nov and got my son a phone on 24 month payment plan. Then 6 weeks later got my wife an apple watch on a 24 month payment plan. But when I signed into the EPP to buy the new iMac and possibly the new iPad pro neither of them are discounting and when you go to buy them it says neither qualified for the 12 month payment plan that the apple card gives you as a benefit on all products. If I sign out of the EPP I then can select the 12 month payment plan. Is it because these are brand new products and apple is being greedy and not wanting to give a discount that I can get on all the other products?? Also why am I not allowed to use my apple card to buy a product with a benefit you give me from the EPP store? It's so confusing and irritating.

The new M1 iMac does allow for 12 months of 0% but only for retail (full price) and EDU customers.

For Military & EPP, because of the larger discount, the Apple Card may be limited.

If you want the EPP discount then you should either use another card for payment that offers 0% interest or use the Apple Card and get 3% back then pay it off the next month.

If I could not get an installment plan, I would have charged the entire amount to the Apple Card, got the 3% cash back and then paid off the iMac using my Amex, FNBO, or Chase card which has a balance transfer offer for 0%.

I pre-ordered my M1 iMac under EDU pricing and got 12 months installment using the Apple Card.
