Can Apple see if my stolen Macbook is online by Serial Number? Or where?

I have my serial number. It's no longer online after it was stolen. Does MacOS send the serial number and geo location when performing system updates or o/s installations? Anything to help locate it?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2
