Hello,
I was just installing Xcode, but I accidentally pressed command+Q while it was "installing components." How can I get Xcode to complete the installation? It is just showing the usual homepage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I tried clicking this in preferences:
Will that install the needed components for Xcode?
Try running this in the Terminal:
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/MacOS/Xcode -installComponents
It doesn't quite seem like the same thing, but it might be
Thank you! Another question though- if the components were halfway done installing before, would running that command just replace any of the components that were installed previously? Or would it install alongside whatever managed to install earlier?
Also, I use etrecheck to solve problems on this website (and on my own Mac) all the time and I can’t thank you enough for creating such an amazing app :)
I have no idea - to all questions. I encountered a similar problem during the Big Sur beta and never experienced any problem. But then, I wasn’t doing much iOS development on that particular machine then.
Luckily, I’m sure there will be another version of Xcode to install in no time.
