Apple Music using too much mobile data

Hi, I have an Apple Music subscription on my iPhone but the other day I got a text to say I’d nearly used all my data, so I looked at my mobile data stats (which I reset each month) and Apple Music had used 13.4gb!! That seems outrageous, especially as I don’t even listen to that much music. What can that be?

Hi Mrs-JC,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with Apple Music and your mobile data.

It's difficult to speculate how the app used so much data. You can restrict Apple Music from using your data in Settings > Cellular.

You can also see if you were using Wi-Fi Assist. If you were listening to Apple Music on Wi-Fi and had a poor connection, cellular data would then be used: About Wi-Fi Assist.

Have a fantastic day!
