Is there any way to reduce the size of this header?

Asking for a friend . . .

She has recently "upgraded" her Macbook Air to Big Sur, with the consequent migration from iTunes to Apple Music. She has managed to import her iTunes playlists, but the header, with artwork now takes up more than half the screen.

Is there any way to reduce the size of this header?

Peter,

That big-a** header is now a feature, and there is not a preference to adjust its size.

However, your friend appears to be running at a fairly fat resolution. Suggest she go to something a bit finer. Go to Apple Icon > System Preferences > Displays > Resolution > Scaled and try some other choices. She will see more on her screen.
