MacBook Pro 2020 will not shut down properly ... Every Day

I purchased a new MacBook Pro last year and have had one or two teething problems. However, one of the problems which occurred occasionally has now become a permanent issue and just will not go away.

Each night I shut down my Mac. Initially, the warning message which appeared when I tried to start up the next day told me that I had not quit certain apps. So, each night before I close down I open Force Quit, see which apps I have used and close them all down manually. Each morning I start up my Mac again to the same message: 'Your computer was restarted because of a problem'.

If anyone can throw any light on why my Mac will not shut down properly, it would be appreciated.

I have you tried simply closing the lid and letting the Mac sleep. There is no practical reason to "shut down" every night.

I have my laptop on all day and, yes, just closing the lid it does open without a problem. However, the laptop should not be able to be shut down properly without a problem, which is something the new Mac seems unable to do.
