Apple notes very slow

Hi,

I just transferred about 3,000 Evernote notes to my Apple notes. Apple notes on my mac is now very slow, using up significant energy, and it takes many seconds to even just switch to it, so now it's pretty much unusable. Also, it hasn't fully synced on my iphone or ipad, only importing about half the notes so far and it seems to have stopped.

Is there a way to make it usable again? Delete some of the heavier notes like PDFs?

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today. It sounds like the Notes app is slow since importing Evernote notes.

It may still be syncing everything. It sounds like a lot of notes were being synced here, so it could just need more time. Is the issue still occurring?

What happens in safe mode? How to use safe mode on your Mac.
