Apple Watch battery draining extremely quickly after updating to 7.4.1

Hello, I recently bought a new Apple Watch SE 40mm and for the first few days I had no issues with the battery. However the day after I updated to watch OS 7.4.1 it started to drain in only a few hours. I tried a few things like turning off some notifications and restarting the watch but nothing worked. My dad who owns a Apple Watch series 5 also was experiencing the same issues after updating. Now I am wondering if this is just a problem with the update or if there is something I need to do to get the battery working good again.

thanks!

Hi Joe,

There are quite many reason why it could happen. Have a look in here for things to check:

Would something in there catch your eye in particular? Do you recall which watchOS version you had before the update? Maybe there is a new feature now enabled by default and causing this.

PS: Many people are asking about the same thing recently, for instance here:

It would be good if we find out which particular change is behind this...
