I hooked up my iPad to my iMac running Catalina and I get the screen below.
I can't even try to update the OS. The only available option is Restore iPad, which I don't want to do.
Anybody know what's wrong or how to fix it?

Eject and disconnect the iPad.
Restart both the iMac and the iPad, then reconnect them.
