Removed email still receiving mail

Hello, I changed my email recently to a more secure program, however my iCloud is still forwarding mail to my yahoo email, which was the one I removed. That yahoo email doesn't even show up in my iCloud.com settings so how can I make sure that it is permanently removed this time?
