Hey garret101,
It appears you're needing permission from your administrator in order to update the app. Is this a work or school phone? If so, let's see if any profiles are on the iPhone. You can do so by going to Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management. If you're not seeing Profiles & Device Management, there are no profiles on the device. If there are any listed, and this is a work phone, check with your IT department.
