Anker Power Elite 13-in-one Thunderbolt 3 Dock for USB-C Laptops with 85W Charging for Laptop
When I installed the Dock, it seemed to work fine for two days, until the third morning I went to power on the MacBook Air w/M1 and it was completely non-responsive. Turns out the battery was completely empty, even though it was connected to the Dock with its power on. I connected the original power adapter and cord to the MacBook Air and it began charging the battery.I called Anker and they said the port is very basic and should pass 85W of power to the MacBook. They suggested replacing the Dock, so I ordered another one.
The second identical Dock seems to have the same problem: shows "battery not being charged." External hard drives, a MicroSD card, headphone jack and a second HDMI monitor connected to the Dock all work flawlessly. I connected the Apple original charging adapter that came with the MacBook, and charging is now active. I can then remove that cord, and it seems the MacBook continues to charge from the Dock.
Is this an Apple or an Anker problem? Resolution?
