Randomly locked out of my iPhone

Has anyone else experienced this lately?

I have a 6 digit passcode since I upgraded to the iPhone 12 in November 2020. Today I used my 6 digit passcode while wearing my mask multiple times. I noticed my coverage has decreased since the Sprint to T-Mobile sim change about 2 weeks ago. I was looking into it and another forum it was recommended to reset network settings. I attempted to do so and was met with a 4 digit code entry way. I don't know of any 4 digit code to use since I've used the 6 digit for several months now. I am now locked out of my iPhone and going through the steps to restore my iPhone.. luckily I have a MacBook and can do so myself. Oh, I don't have a recent backup either so I'll be losing a lot of data/photos.
