I try to register my phone numer as imassage id. I rather want my phone number instead of my email. But it is not possible. The "wheel is just spinning", and mye number isnt registered. This happende after i changed to a new iphone 12. On my old iphone 8 this wan not a problem.

First, check to know whether you have an SMS plan enabled at least for One SMS with your carrier. Contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider) the agency who issued the SIM to you
If your iPhone is used with a carrier not found in the wireless carrier articles, make sure you can send and receive international SMS. (One SMS Only)
