USB-c to 3.5mm headphone adapter w windows PC

I have an Apple USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapter that I'm trying to use with a Windows PC and my Apple wired 3.5mm earpods. When I received the adapter and started using it on the PC, everything worked correctly, including the earpod volume controls. However, after unplugging and plugging it back in, it's no longer functional. Now when plugging in, the PC registers a new device and a driver shows up in the device manager, but then disconnects within 10 seconds.

I have confirmed that this is not a physical connection issue and I believe it's a driver issue. Has anyone had a similar issue and was able to resolve? Thanks!
