my screen shots automatically go to texting app. and nowhere else. this is new occurrence on my macbook pro.

Right click Launchpad in the Dock. Move mouse pointer to "Other' and then "Screen shot"
Launch Screenshot app.
Screen will go dark, Screenshot app will appear, click the "Options" button and choose the desired location.
Click the "X" button at left most part of the bar to to exit.
