Trying to unlock my phone
I’m currently stationed overseas in the UK and I’m trying to unlock my phone in order to use a different sims card. Would I need to go through Apple or my carrier?

I am at least as confused as that.
If the original carrier said “it’s OK with us”, and you said “I’m trying to unlock my phone”, it’s not at all clear if you actually tried and failed, are contemplating trying, or ??

Only the original cellular carrier may unlock the iPhone if they choose to do so.
My carrier said that they already unlocked it and that I should be able to use another SIM card. So I’m just a bit confused
