Smart Keyboard for iPad keeps dropping connections

All of the sudden my Smart Keyboard keep dropping connection. In the middle of typing, it will stop, the on screen keyboard will pop up. I will have to use that for a bit then all of a sudden the Smart Keyboard reconnects. The annoyance of this is ridiculous. Yes, I have removed keyboard, shut down, restarted, reconnected, etc. and I still have the same issue. I have cleaned the connectors, etc. While typing this, it has dropped off 3x.

It appears that you're having a problem with the Smart Keyboard you use with your iPad. It will stop responding and the on-screen keyboard shows. But, then the Smart Keyboard reconnects throwing off your typing. We understand how important it is that your typing flow be uninterrupted, and we're glad to provide assistance.


How to clean your Apple products - Apple Support -- Follow the steps under "Pad Smart Keyboard, Smart Keyboard Folio, Smart Cover, and Smart Case—polyurethane" in this section of the article.


Use your Smart Keyboard Folio or Smart Keyboard with your iPad - Apple Support -- Once your Smart Keyboard is clean, follow the steps in the "Get help" section.
