iPhone SE people can't hear me on calls

I have answered three calls this morning and I could hear the person, but they could not hear me. I called another phone in my house and it answered and the same thing. I receive no notices from Verizon and my Verizon bill is paid automatically. I turned the phone off and on and checked settlings. when I called Verizon, the answering program did not recognize the numbers or pound I entered.
