We live remote in Alaska and only have access to an ATT tower. When we had iPhone 6s we could hotspot from one phone and do updates. Now with the 12 we cannot do this. I can still use this process to update my iPad. What can we do? We’d have to drive a 100 miles to find a business hotspot.

According to the link I posted you should be able to do iOS updates over 5G. That link is all I know, sorry.
No luck. Went through the link and all matches. I think the operating system has changed to not allow updates to the 12 via hotspot?
A 6s and 12 can run the same iOS.
