complaint about apple podcast update

I'm having the same problem. Additionally, you can't binge a podcast that you find--it won't update your library when you add a new podcast (which you can't "add" anymore, you have to "follow" it, in attempt to be more like other apps, I guess, but certainly not why I keep apple podcasts instead of using those other apps--though there is content on other apps I wouldn't mind having access to).
