I cannot open my phone. Just bought it today.

It has been using my Face Id since I set it up and now it's saying I have to type in the passcode I set up in order for the Face Id to work but the passcode I set up is NOT working. I don't want to delete everything on my phone as I have thousands and thousands of photos and videos.

If your passcode is not working then you have to reset the passcode. Before you attempt to reset the passcode, try and remember whether it is a different passcode then what you have been inputting. If not then:

You will need to reset your passcode. You will need a computer to complete this task. You can reset your passcode by following the instructions in this article by Apple ➔ How to reset your passcode on a disabled iPhone. All your data on your iPhone will be wiped clean in the process.

If you have a backup created then you can ➔ Restore Your iPhone from that backup file. If you do not have a backup file created then you will lose all your data on the iPhone.

If Photos, Messages and Contacts are synced to iCloud then you will be able to retrieve them after setting up iCloud on your iPhone after you reset the passcode and sign into iCloud.
