What do I need to do to get my IPod updated?
I have connected my IPod directly to my computer. I turned of my virus software. I restarted both devises.
I still get the error message.

Also, what generation iPod do you have?
A 3th generation iPod can't update past 4.2.1
A 4th generation iPod can't update past 6.1.6
A 5th generation iPod can't update past 9.3.5
A 6th generation iPod can't update past 12.5.3
I am trying to update my IPod Tough to the latest software but I get an error code 4000.
