We understand that you are wanting assistance on how to utilize your bootable USB on your new MacBook Air.

We have taken the liberty of providing you with some helpful steps:

How to create a bootable installer for macOS

"Use the bootable installer

Apple silicon

  1. Plug the bootable installer into a Mac that is connected to the internet and compatible with the version of macOS you're installing.
  2. Turn on your Mac and continue to hold the power button until you see the startup options window, which shows your bootable volumes.
  3. Select the volume containing the bootable installer, then click Continue.
  4. When the macOS installer opens, follow the onscreen instructions."

We hope this finds you well!

Cheers!

Hello MKelhout61,

Being that this is isolated down to the specially configured USB stick from your company, we would suggest (if you haven't done so already) contact your IT department to see if there is any special configurations you will need to utilize the stick on your new MacBook or Contact Apple Support at this time.

We hope this finds you well!

Cheers!

Hi Chris

Thx for your reply, yes this info is also useful to know however the USB stick I have or use is a configured stick by the company I work for. We call it the telestick solution.

I will need to connect from home with my private laptop (Mcbook Air now) to the company network via a secure connection, the USB stick perform the startup protocol and my ID card is also required with a card reader.

On my old Mcbook Pro I used the Option key before starting up, I saw than the Macbook disk and the USB stick, I select than the USB stick and the start up protocol begins.

So that's the reason why I would like to see my USB stick during restart of my McBook air (M1)

Did you ever hear questions about this subject?

regards

Martin
