bluetooth speaker not found under sound output

I have tried everything to fix this. It was working fine, then I had to select internal speaker since i was using my pro in another room, and ever since then the speaker connects briefly to bluetooth, never appears in sound > outputs, and then disconnects from bluetooth. I have reset the speaker, tried plugged in an on battery, disconnected/reconnected bluetooth probably 20 times, restarted my macbook pro twice, turned off bluetoothd in Activity Monitor. Nothing.

I have wasted waaayyy too much time on this and am ticked

Sure thing, maybe after you're done for the day you can try the NVRAM and SMC resets. If both of these fail to fix the problem, you can move on to the following:

Bluetooth Module Reset:

Simultaneously, hold both a Shift and an Option key while selecting the Bluetooth icon in your Mac's menu bar, and select Debug > Reset Bluetooth Module. Then reboot and try pairing the speaker again.

I'm sorry LauraAppleNewbie, that sounds very frustrating. I have a couple suggestions for you to try out. You can follow the below guides to reset your SMC and NVRAM which often fixes this sort of issue.

How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

Also, some follow-up questions:

Is this just occurring with your Macbook Pro?

Do you have another device that you can pair with the speaker?

Lastly, what type of speaker is it?

Thanks loganbek.

The speaker pairs fine w my iPhone, immediately and no problem. Forgetting the speaker on the iPhone doesn't correct the macbook issue. It's a Bose soundlink.

My life will be literally ruined if resetting the NVRAM or SMC mess up my zoom settings in any way today, so I will try those at the end of the day, thanks for the suggestions
