My watch is not charging

I did not charge my new Apple Watch ((Series 6)) even once. It eventually got shut down. Now when I am trying to charge it with my new Apple magnetic charger. However, it is not charging. Hence, the watch is also not getting switched on.

It is difficult to understand if it is a problem with watch charging or the charger that I received is defective. I do not have a different charger with me.

Any suggestions?
