iMessage keeps signing me out

Hey all,


I have a M1 MBP, 16Gb, 512 SSD. One day when I opened iMessage it was signed out. So I signed back in but within seconds it kicks me back out and makes me sign in again. Any ideas why? I've signed out of iCloud and signed back in, I've obviously rebooted many times. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

This is definitely unexpected behavior for iMessage but we would be happy to help figure this out with you. To start, we'd recommend making sure that your MacBook Pro is up to date on the latest version of macOS. You can follow these steps to be sure: How to update the software on your Mac


Sometimes updating is the best way to make sure that you are in the best position to resolve these types of issues.


We'd also check if you're able to sign in to iCloud.com which is the official iCloud website. Use the same Apple ID and password and see if you're able to log in. If you are, then we can be sure that your Apple ID/password combo is correct which is good to verify. In the event that your password and Apple ID are working on iCloud.com, we'd recommend booting up into Safe Mode and testing the issue there. If the issue doesn't occur in Safe Mode, go ahead and reboot the Mac into a normal boot and test it again.

Are you running any anti - virus programs? Using a VPN?


Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
