Ipad- icon with up arrow

Up arrow showing in upper right corner of ipad. Cannot be moved or removed. Does not seem to do much except that hides some of the functions behind it. Could not find solution to remove it or explanation. (But found questions about it a few times) . Sometimes it briefly switches to two arrows.

what is its purpose? How to remove or move it?

I use a logitech keyboard. Have same keyboard and ipad for quite a while. Icon is new.

For older iPad models with a Home button, do a hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons.

OR

For much newer, larger screen iPad models, without a Home button, try the new hard reset procedure for the new 2018/2020/2021 iPad Pros and the 2020 iPad Air 4 models.

1. Press and Release the Volume Up button.

2. Then immediately Press and Release the Volume Down button.

3. Then, Press and Hold the Power Button at the top. You will see the Slide to Power off button, but keep on holding down the Power Button until you see the Apple logo, then let it go.

Once you have performed all the steps, wait for a few seconds and your 2018 iPad Pro will boot up completely to the iPad Pro’s Lock screen.

Hey there, mylène32.

It appears that you are encountering an icon that you are unsure of that either shows an upward arrow icon or two arrows.

Do you continue to see this icon if you temporarily stop using your iPad Air 2 with your Logitech keyboard?

Has there been any recent changes to your iPad Air 2?

Do you see this icon on any screen and in any apps on your iPad Air 2?

Your answers can help us determine what might be going on and possible next steps.

Take care.

If you use an external keyboard these symbols are to indicated you have certain modifier keys locked or active on your external keyboard.

These are shown on your iPad's screen to remind you to release/unlock these modifier keys.

Once the modifier key, in question, is unlocked or released, the large icon on your iPad's screen will disappear.
