Airpods Max lift left ear cup for pause music not working?

Hi,

I purchased the blue AirPods Max today. I have a question pausing music of played content.

When I lift the right ear cup the music stops playing or the content is paused.

But, when I lift the left ear cup nothing happens. Is this by design or is my sensor on the left not working?

Even when I go to settings for my airpods, it only gives the options of switching the airpods to noise cancellation, off or transparency mode. airpods pro proximity sensor i found out my right airpods pro sometimes pause by itself even it still in my ears, i have to pull it out then put it back to play the song, does someone also have this problem????

[Airpods Pro] Automatic Ear Detection Not Working Sometimes when watching YouTube or listening Spotify, taking one of the pods out of my ear wouldn't pause the media(i turned automatic ear detection mode on in bluetooth setting). I have tried to reset my airpods pro but the problem still persists. Note: My airpods pro is brandnew

Haha found it. I was blocking my sensor when playing with the removable ear cups.
