Adding Music to Library

Just today when visiting an album and clicking the + Add option. It shows as added and the cloud icon for a few seconds before that reverts back to the previous + Add option.


I've complete the steps of clearing the cache. Un syncing to re sync. Wondering if there had been any headway regarding this issue.

It sounds like you can't add music from Apple Music. We're glad you've joined us in Apple Support Communities. Let's see if this helps.


Are you an Apple Music subscriber? If so, it might be that when you tap the plus sign your device isn't fully connecting to Apple Music. Follow the steps in the section, If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services. This link has the most frequent solutions to troubleshooting when you can't connect to an Apple service like Apple Music. 


If the issue remains after following those steps, let us know if next time this happens, test out if your internet is connected by going to a website in Safari right when you can't add an album to your library. Also, let us know if this only happens with one album or a few of them.

Thanks for those details. Let's try turning cellular data off completely for Apple Music and see if that improves. If the issue continues, follow the steps in If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open. The troubleshooting in it will commonly fix issues of the Music App not working correctly on your iPhone. A head's up, in step four when you delete the Music App you'll need to redownload your music again after reinstalling the app.

Thanks for the feedback. I am an Apple Music subscriber and have been since it started.


I am connected to the internet via wifi and have also tested just via LTE network (will attempt again)


I just ran a test with a few albums and it’s happening to anything new I try to + Add (see below)


It shows as added only to revert back to the + Add option like it never happened.

Thanks for all the feedback.


We still have no resolution. Still cannot add any music to my Apple Music library (Individual Subscription).


I’ve turned off and on sync. I’ve restarted, I’ve deleted and redownloaded the application. It’s seems a waste to keep paying for a subscription you can not use fully functionally.


If the problem continues the only option one would have is to cancel it.


any other ideas?


Attached are the steps that just happened live. Search for album, find album, add album, shows added then directly after right back to the Add (+).
