Connecting devices to Bluetooth on iPhone 12

I just got the new iPhone 12. I am having the hardest time connecting stuff on Bluetooth. Specifically my hover board. I have a reset my phone and turned on and off my Bluetooth. It shows that the device discoverable but will not connect. I can connect it on any device but my iPhone 12. What do I do?
