MBP Mid2012 number keys acting up

need a little help here. every time I try to click any number from 1-8 it's automatically followed up by number 9. but when I try to use number 9 it won't even type the number 9. so if I wanted to type 1234 it will come up as 19293949. anyone who knows how to fix this?

Hi,

Try to check your MacBook Pro with Apple Diagnostics if it reports keyboard related error(NDK001, NDK003, NDK004).

Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support

If it doesn't help, if your MacBook Pro has Intel Processor, resetting NVRAM as well as SMC which could solve the issue.

Plug in an external keyboard and compare the results... this maybe your work around if you have a hardware failure

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"—
