MBP Mid2012 number keys acting up

Hi,

Try to check your MacBook Pro with Apple Diagnostics if it reports keyboard related error(NDK001, NDK003, NDK004).

Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support

If it doesn't help, if your MacBook Pro has Intel Processor, resetting NVRAM as well as SMC which could solve the issue.

Plug in an external keyboard and compare the results... this maybe your work around if you have a hardware failure

Another item to watch for, could be hiding; in the form

of a swelling battery that can effect keyboard/trackpad

functions that may also either be leaking, or explode.

If the battery had been noted or inspected and found

to be implicated, that may mean an expensive repair.
