I bought iPad Pro to be able to use usb c drive to save files then later put them on my computer since latest update this no longer works so now I need to take laptop out with me and unable to use iPad for saving

Could you describe the issue in more detail? As far as I'm aware, you should be able to use the Files app to access files on an external drive.

I've had a problem with the Files App when transferring video files from an iPad Pro to either a USB-C flash drive or an external USB-C drive.
The transferred video file is unusable for viewing from either the flash drive or the external drive using any type of video player even though the extension is m4p. Occasionally I get the same problem with pdf's.
It appears that using the Files App on an iPad Pro is only useful for transferring files to the iPad Pro, NOT transferring files From the iPad. Apple needs to address this. Why should the Files App only be good for transferring files to an IOS device?
Why not both ways??
I have a usbc memory stick that prior to last update I could use on my iPad 11 pro but now I am no longer able to access these files on my iPad so have to take my laptop with me instead of my iPad. I bought the iPad and Apple keyboard so that I didn’t have to carry computer but it’s seems I wasted my money as still have to take computer
