There are perhaps two relatively easy methods of transfering data files between your linux computer and your iPad. The first is to sign-in to iCloud using a web-browser - and exchange files between your computer and iCloud file storage. Your iPad can then directly access these files from iCloud.

An alternative is to consider use of a physical USB storage device. Assuming that your iPad is running iOS12 or later, to be recognised by iPadOS, the attached USB storage device must be formatted to FAT, FAT32 or exFAT (i.e., FAT64) with a single data partition.  APFS or HFS+ are also supported by iPad, but not linux.

As the iPad has limited power capabilities, dependent upon the Storage Device, an external power source is often required. For HDD or SSD, an external power source is almost certainly required.

If your iPad Pro has a Lightning port, you will need to use an Apple Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter to connect USB devices to the iPad. This adapter has both a USB 3.0 Type-A connector and an additional Lightning port to supply power, from your Power Adapter, to both the iPad and connected device. The Power Adapter must be rated at 12W or more.

If you have one of the newest iPad Pro models, with a USB-C connector, you may need to utilise a powered USB hub (i.e., it has its own source of power) - connecting both the iPad Pro and the storage device to ports on the hub.

The external storage device will obviously require an appropriate USB3 cable to connect to the USB port of the Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter, or USB hub if used.

As for fonts, these cannot be transferred per-se, but must instead be installed on the iPad using an appropriate App.

I will just add that based on LotusPilot's exhaustive response to you.

There are NO quick or easy ways to move data from your Linux computer to your iPad.

iCloud or other Cloud dats storage services, like Google Drive, DropBox, BOX and the like, maybe your most direct way of transferring data to your iPad.

Everything else needs additonal hardware and transferring that data to the hardware and needed adapter interfaces to get data from your Linux computer into your iPad.

There are really no quick, cheap, easy solutions for you other than maybe iCloud or other cloud-bsed data services being the lesser paths of resistance.

If you want to install fonts onto your iPad, look at an app called AnyFont, in the iOS App Store.

AnyFont

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/anyfont/id821560738

Installs fonts onto your iPad as profiles.

Thousands of fonts/font families and typeface sizes to choose from.

I have used AnyFont for many years to install fonts onto my iPads.

Be advised that NOT all apps in the iOS App store support custom installations of fonts.

Best of Luck to You!
