Has something changed? I have always been able to transfer downloaded Audible audiobook files from my Mac into my iTunes folder. I am still able to download the files onto the desktop of my Mac. But no longer can I slide then into my iTunes. Neither can I figure out how to add a file to my iTunes library from the top iTunes menu tabs. How do I correct this problem?

I should have thought to first start a live chat for help...which was then my next step after posting this question. I do have an older Mac/operating system, but as it turned out, that was not the problem.
After asking me a series of questions, the Apple chat advisor suggested that I refresh my credentials. I did so. I deleted and resubmitted account info, etc. Once again, I am able to slide Audible files into one of my iTunes folders. I hope this solution also helps someone else. Happy!
