unable to boot from usb drive neither with macos 2013 Catalina nor macos 2018 Big Sur

Hallo, I am trying to prepare my laptop for the Red Hat Remote Exam EX180. This Exam should be rebooted from a usb stick which is exam image on Fedora. So, I was unable to do that. I follow all the steps described in this link: https://www.redhat.com/rhdc/managed-files/tr-remote-exams-preparation-ebook-f27382-202103-en.pdf So far, I was unsuccessful. I did the followings on macos 2013 catalina:

I unmounted usb stick <diskutil unmountDisk /dev/disk2>

I created disk image with dd command <sudo dd if=/home/<>/Downloads/<> of=/dev/<> bs=512k>

After completed, I rebooted my Laptop with options. EFI Image was seen. I clicked on it. Black screen was appeared. It gave an error. and it did not continue to start with that image. Nothing happened at all.

if there is any solution, please share it with me. Thank you in advance.

What is your mac model?

Recent (intel) macs do not allow booting from external drive by default - you have to enable that by starting from Recovery, and running Startup Security Utility to authorize that.

M1 macs may be similar (and of course you'd need a version of Linux compiled for Arm - not sure if that exists, but it probably does)

I have tried in both macos model 2013 Catalina and 2018 big sur. Former had problem with no functioning at all. Latter was successful at installing the image and was able to see the first screen of the exam but then keyboard and mouse didn't work. So, it doesn't work either. The only way it was mentioned from Red Hat support was to use wired external keyboard, mouse, internet and even screen. It means that fedora doesn't see the peripherals from macos. So, I think I have to use windows computer for this exam.
