I can't find an answer anywhere. To enjoy high-frame-rate capability (60 fps) of the Apple TV 4K (2021), does my TV also need to have HDMI 2.1? I know the Apple TV 4K (2021) has HDMI 2.1, but am not sure if my TV also needs it for 60 fps. I already have HDMI cables that support HDMI 2.1. Thank you!
A simple search on Google says HDMI 2.0 support 4K 60Hz. From the tech specs on your TV on Sony’s website:
So it looks like you should be good. I don’t understand why you said you couldn’t find an answer anywhere when it took me about two minutes to find things. These specs were probably in the owners manual for your TV too.

Well, without knowing which brand/model of TV you have there’s not much we can say. Have you gone to your TV manufacture’s website and looked at the technical specifications for your model? That’s your best source of information and should tell you if HDMI 2.1 is part of the specifications.
I should have been more specific. My TV (Sony XBR-55X800H) is HDMI 2.0, I wanted to know if 2.1 is required for 60 fps.
Appreciate the information, not the snark. I was not sure if I needed HDMI 2.1 on both ends for 60 fps (different than 60Hz) content to work.
