I have Gmail accounts texting me some sex nudie photo sites. It seems to me that they have gathered Verizon numbers. The email is texting me and 20 other people. I block them then I get a new gmail account spamming me. Yesterday I got 5 different texts. Verizon says they cannot "block" iMessage. ANYONE have any suggestions? Anyone reading this....I believe they got my number after I stupidly responded to a text message thinking it was a friend. UGH. I really want this to stop.
@Roseyred_911 you are not alone. I’ve been getting these texts for several months and looking at other posts in this community there are several others. They always come from a gmail email address along with 20 other numbers. I’ve blocked all of the numbers but the gmail address keeps changing and sending new texts from a new gmail address. I also report these email addresses to ‘7726‘. I’ve made online reports to Google, the FTC, called Verizon, and I’ve gone online to my Verizon wireless account and ‘blocked all text messages from the web or a gmail.com domain’ and nothing has worked. There has to be a way to block email addresses from sending text messages to iPhones. Also I always notice that the other phone numbers on the group spam message either end in ‘vzwpix.com’ or ‘ vtext.com’ which makes wonder if the issue is started with Verizon. @Apple, is there anyway to block an email address from sending a text message to my iPhone? My carrier has not been helpful.
Wow you have done a lot more work. When I have time I search the Internet for solutions and yet to come up with one.
I’ve also blocked the domain gmail.com from Verizon‘s website. And it doesn’t help with iMessage messaging.
I was thinking maybe my Gmail had been compromised also. The emails they are coming from seem like they are regular emails, but then noticed the phone numbers were from Verizon like they got hacked or something.
thanks for responding the other post that I seen seen on the Apple community didn’t look current. It’s beyond frustrating and annoying.
