How do I view my iphone's backup data?

Hello,

Every time I run out of space on my iPhone I make backups to my computer and basically start from scracth. But now I wanted to view the files that are backed up and they're all encrypted. They're not password protected or anything, just weird file folders and names (no extensions).

Is there really no easy way to see the backups I created? Have hundreds of photos and videos.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

iPhone 11, iOS 14

You are correct, there is no easy way or actually no way to see the contents of a backup file. The only suggestion I can offer is to copy or import your photos and videos directly to your computer. You can see them that way. I do both, backup and copy/import. Hope this helps.
