How to erase the engraving

Hi Apple Support,

I want to sell or trade in my iPad Pro 10.5 to 11, but my old one has my name engraved on it.

1 - Do you accept that for the trade-in?

2 - If not, do you or can you erase the engraving so I could sell it myself?

I'd appreciate your response asap.

Thanks.

Engraving is not print process - but is a permanent marking of the casing through removal of material. Engraving cannot be viably removed from the iPad casing - as the only way to remove it is to grind away the metal of the chassis.

Whilst engraving may be popular, doing so will always make resale difficult.
